It’s north of Highway 90 Alternative, west of South Post Oak Road, and east of Bob White Road. Westbury is close to the Route 610 Loop as well.

Neighboring communities include Greater Fondren Southwest, Meyerland, Braeburn, and Bellaire. There are four public elementary schools, two middle schools, and Westbury High Zone, though some of Westbury is zoned for Bellaire High School. There’s also a Roman Catholic school in town for grade K-8.

Westbury was named as the 2007 “Best Hidden Neighborhood” by the Houston Press. Westbury was also listed in the 25 Hottest Houston Neighborhoods in the June 2013 edition of Houstonia Magazine.

Parks and attractions in Westbury

Westbury is great place for kids. Westbury Park features a playground, tennis courts, sports field, and, of course, the Westbury Pool. Hager Park is another popular destination, as it includes a covered basketball court, playground, and walking trail. You can also frequent the Platou Community Center. Since Houston stays warm all year, kids can play outside even in the winter.

There are also two public libraries in Westbury, which often host free events. The Westbury Civic Club is an active community organization that frequently meets to improve the area and host local events.

Although Westbury is a serene escape from city life, Houston is a quick drive away. Just take Route 610 to 69, and you’ll be in the center of it all in about 20 minutes.
